Our dear Mentor, Teacher and Friend has crossed the threshold this last Sunday.
Personally, over these last few days I have felt tears and a heavy heart. At the same time, I also feel him soaring through this as a Shining Soul completing its mission: Julian has embodied an exemplary expression of a true fulfillment of purpose.
Many of you may not know that his fierce determination and courage are in great part what has allowed us to freely access Dr Bach’s legacy and knowledge. In an important way, the battles he fought have freed the path for all of us who practice Flower Essence Therapy, in a way that connects us directly to the plants.

A line of direct transmission
Julian has been part of a lineage of direct transmission of Dr Bach’s work. Quoting the message from Healing Herbs this morning:
“ Julian founded Healing Herbs with the encouragement and support of Nickie Murray, following her departure from the Bach Center. Under her guidance he developed the education resource. This continued to be his mission throughout his life: to give free access to the work of Dr Edward Bach to the public at large.”
And I underscore this part of the message, due to the profound meaning it has for me:
He will be known to many of you as the warrior who enabled Bach Flowers to be recognized as a beneficial force for healing, and to others who made Bach flower essences according to the original direction of Dr Bach, and fought for them to be available worldwide.
A speaker for the Plants and their Healing gifts
His creative generosity has allowed us to learn about each of the Bach Essences plants in ways that are vividly rich and bring the qualities of each essence to LIFE. No other teacher has offered this in such a comprehensive and generous way: his books, especially Bach Flowers, Form and Function, and Bach Flower Remedies: the essence within, along with every segment of his Bach Flower Learning Program, are the best and richest resource available for all of those who want to deepen their resonance with the Bach Flower Remedies.
His boundless generosity has helped many
Over several decades, he has collaborated with dedicated people throughout the world, sharing his educational work free of charge and helping populations in need to have free access to the healing of the flowers. He has encouraged the work of other teachers and schools, and has helped all of those in service to truly grow and thrive.
The integrity of his work will continue to serve the world
From his base in Waltersone, Hereford, UK, Julian has partnered with the most competent team of collaborators to manifest his legacy through the Bach education resource and ensure the continued availability of the Healing Herbs as essences we can trust for our daily work for the years to come.
I am certain Julian will continue to mentor and encourage us, while we continue to learn and teach inspired by the fruits of his dedication and generosity.
