Open Circles
Offered for FREE (almost) every month since 2016, these are opportunities for group attunement with the intelligence of one chosen Plant Archetype, through Zoom.
These group experiences moderated by Ruth Toledo Altschuler are informal gatherings for attuning to the wisdom of plants while nurturing community.
The plants chosen are always plants from which flower essences are prepared.
Some plants are familiar to some of the participants, and they are invited to bring their experience to share with the group. Other plants are rarely seen by humans, and in the Circle, we have the opportunity of getting acquainted and enriched by them.
“For me, participating in these Open Circles is having the opportunity to pause, breathe and open the eyes of the soul and heart, allowing myself to feel the plants and flowers in a unique way at each encounter. It is also being open to others, to the different perspectives and perceptions captured by each person and being able to learn from the sharing of knowledge and sensations, remembering that observing nature is observing ourselves and how much this seemingly simple act can inspire us to have more awareness and balance in our journey, emanating good feelings and positive vibrations to all beings.” Bruna Vannuci, São Paulo, Brazil

Part of the recent Invitation for the Green Cross Gentian attunement
“Those who are familiar with the Bach essences know that Gentian Gentiana amarella is helpful: "For those who are faltering or are despondent. Look on the dark side and are pessimistic." Its flower essence: "helps you to keep your firmness of purpose, and a happier and more hopeful outlook even when the sky is over-cast."
While it is definitely true that many of us are needing to nurture our firmness of purpose and hopeful outlook, it feels like the kind of strength and perspective we need requires very potent Soul Strength.
These needs can be met by another plant, one that endures inclement altitude weather, while holding a wide and encompassing perspective.
A sturdy Gentianaceae growing on high elevations
A member of the same Gentianaceae family, the Green Cross Gentian Frasera speciosa is a relative of our known Gentian cited above. But this one grows on high elevations, flowering only on some years when from a previously developed and grounded rosette of leaves, it vertically grows a sturdy and strong column of green.
Part of the Range of Light kit developed by Patricia Kaminski and Richard Katz, founders of the Flower Essence Society, the Green Cross Gentian flower essence supports those who care for the Earth and its beings and are often challenged by less conscious actions of humans that compromise the future of life on planet Earth.
"We find that the Green Cross Gentian essence is especially helpful for those of us already committed to creating a better world, but who can feel deep discouragement at the daunting tasks before us."
After attuning to the plant, as a group we shared our experience
After the guided journey of attunement to the Plant Archetype (step 3), we hold a conversation sharing our experiences. Feeling enlivened by insights and qualities of the plant that we all aligned with, we will end by broadcasting its qualities out (step 5).

Testimonials on the experience of participants
“Participating in Open Circles is like being immersed in the corolla of a flowery field. Imagine the delight!
In addition to previous personal and professional experience, multiple benefits are always present. My vision of plant nature, of the reflection of nature in my nature, intertwines, expands, and realigns. The ambiance is light and informal, which allows for many exchanges. The vastness of the images in never-before-seen details awakens and generously invites new insights into the relationships between the gestures of the flower in your personal life and that of your clients." Leticia Durão, Recife, Brazil
Open Circles happen both in English and Portuguese
“In my journey to ‘connect’ with nature (as opposed to only consuming it), I realized that I had an underdeveloped skill in communication. I was not fluent in any of its diverse languages and lacked a working vocabulary with which to listen. I was delighted to discover that during the Open Circles, I am able to hear and understand what flowers are communicating. They are ‘flow-ers’ of energy…and so much more! The Circles are a great place to converse and become fluent in one of the many dialects of Nature!” Patsy Yike, United States
